Research Interests

A cultural, linguistic and applied anthropologist who has conducted research with ethnic minorities, including American Indians and Southeast Asian refugees. Her areas of specialization include language and culture, cultural theory, ethnographic method, cultural continuity and change. Her most recent research focuses on Buddhism and mediation and their effects on health and mental health.
